A campaign is a named setup for one rollout. It ties a format set to one or more brands, and holds the copy for the run.
A campaign has three parts:
- Campaign. A name, a format set (the list of sizes to build) and the brands it applies to.
- Copy. A call to action (CTA), any other copy as key and text pairs, and a QR URL.
- Rules. An optional switch, “Override the brand’s rules”, for this rollout only.
A new organisation has a “Sample Campaign” that uses the Shopping centre format set and the sample brand.
Why it works this way
Section titled “Why it works this way”The master is the design. The campaign is the decision about where it goes. Keeping them apart means you can reuse one master across many rollouts, or run the same campaign across several brands, without redoing the setup.
Rule overrides live on the campaign so that a one-off need doesn’t change a brand for good. With one brand chosen, an empty override shows that brand’s own value. With several, each brand’s own rules apply unless you set a value on the campaign.
How a campaign starts a run
Section titled “How a campaign starts a run”You start from your design app. Choose the campaign, tick the brands, and generate. Each ticked brand is its own run. Each format in the campaign’s format set is built once per brand. So a set of 6 formats and 3 brands builds 18 formats, and uses up to 18 of your plan’s formats.
A campaign needs at least one brand and at least one format before it can run.
How it fits with other parts of Mestra
Section titled “How it fits with other parts of Mestra”- It uses the formats in its format set.
- It points at brands and can override their rules.
- Its results are reviewed under Review and flags.
